Oliver Typewriter Co.
Rev. Thomas Oliver
Original Price: $100 ($5 + $0.17 per day)
This model retained the distinctive type bars from Rev. Oliver's second patent in 1894, and production began in 1906. You can see from the newspaper advertisement to the left that the right hand bar was intended to hold a pencil, perhaps for quick editing after typing. (Ad from the Lawrence Daily Journal-World, published in Kansas on May 30, 1911.)
