Victor

The standard Victor typewriter was manufactured by The Victor Typewriter Company when that company took over from the bankrupted Franklin Typewriter Company. You can read a little more about this takeover at the end of our blog article, "Rethinking the Franklin", published September 2, 2019. If you take a look at the ad to the left, taken from page 3 of The Charlotte Observer, published December 25, 1920, you can see the victor of the Victor typewriter letter writing contest and her letter to the company outlining the victorious features of the Victor typewriter.
