The Rem-Blick is essentially a re-branded Blickensderfer Model 5, which had fewer parts than the later models of Blickensderfer. After the death of Mr. Blickensderfer, the dies and design for the Blickensderfer were purchased, first by the Roberts Typewriter Company, and then in 1926/7 by the famous Remington Typewriter Company, which had recently become the Remington-Rand Typewriter Company. Thought to be a way for Remington to break into the budget typewriter business, the Rem-Blick, later sold as just The Blick, was sold in the Sear's Catalog at the time of the stock market crash, which marked the beginning of the Great Depression in the US. You can see an ad to your left from the Winter 1929 Sear's Catalog.
