The model 8 was the "cash cow" for L. C. Smith & Corona, a standard model similar to other standard typewriter models of the time. The L. C. Smith became popular for utilizing ball bearings in the design, starting with the model 3. The middle picture is taken from the Sears Spring Catalog of the same year this model was manufactured, 1934.
