The Remington Deluxe Model 5 was also sold under its new name, Remington Rand, and like many typewriters, seems to have been a popular item to advertise for Christmas gifts in the States. This particular typewriter was manufactured the year Japan attacked the United States, which brought the US into World War II. This is a reminder that even when the world is in war times, life does not stop.
