This particular machine was manufactured six years after the first portable typewriter rolled off the Remington line. The type bars of this machine could be lowered so that carrying would be made more compact. Although the model shown to your left is black, like other portable models at the time, the Remington was also sold in various colors, as advertised in the dealer pamphlet in the middle picture (originally distributed by Authorized Dealer D. C. Baldwin of Fort Smith, USA).
